FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method by which your guests can
upload content (files) to an incoming directory.
Archive
Manager - The archive manager is a tool available to you in your
control panel. The Archive Manager option provides a method of backing
up files on your site by compressing them. It is always good practice
to back up files in case damage should occur to original files. Compressing
files allows you to reduce the amount of storage space your files
take up, thus freeing more space for you to work with on your site.
Bandwidth
- The total amount of traffic generated by your site. If you deliver
100,000 pages a day of 10.0 kilobytes each, then your website will
consume 1 gigabyte of data per day, or about 30 gigabytes per month.
Over 90% of all websites never go above 5GB of data transfer per month.

CGI
BIN - A special directory where common gateway interface (CGI)
scripts are kept. Since a CGI program is executable, having a CGI
script on a web page means allowing everyone who visits the page to
run a program on the system, which is not very safe. Putting the CGI
script in its own directory is a security precaution; the cgi bin
can be under direct control of the webmaster, which prohibits the
average user from creating CGI scripts.
Control
Panel - The Control Panel makes managing your web space fun and
easy. This extraordinary interface offers you a way to quickly view
account-related information and provides easy access to the wide variety
of tools and utilities that come with your account. With the click
of a mouse, you can administer your web space, e-mail accounts, directories,
cgi-bin (program script storage area) and all the special features
offered, including site statistics and shopping carts. You can even
add additional features to your account whenever you need them. Gain
control and flexibility to make changes within your own time frame
and according to your own particular business needs.

Cybercash
Support - Cybercash is an online credit card processor. If you
register with them, you can then install the local config for your
domain on our servers with the Control Panel.
Data
Transfer (MB) - The total amount of traffic generated by your
site. If you deliver 100,000 pages a day of 10.0 kilobytes each, then
your website will consume 1 gigabyte of data per day, or about 30
gigabytes per month. Over 90% of all websites never go above 5GB of
data transfer per month.
Detailed
Site Statistics - Many statistics about the usage of your web
site are available through the Site Statistics option in the Control
Panel. The statistics are generated by the http-analyze program, by
Rent-A-Guru.

Disk
Space(MB) - Disk space refers to the amount of space that we provide
on our server to hold your web site files. One megabyte (MB) of disk
space can hold several hundred pages of text and images.

Domain
Name - The unique name that identifies an Internet site. Domain
Names always have 2 or more parts, separated by dots. The part on
the left is the most specific, and the part on the right is the most
general. A given machine may have more than one Domain Name but a
given Domain Name points to only one machine. For example, the domain
names: terrawebsolutions.com, mail.terrawebsolutions.com, support.terrawebsolutions.com
can all refer to the same machine, but each domain name can refer
to no more than one machine. Usually, all of the machines on a given
Network will have the same thing as the right-hand portion of their
Domain Names (terrawebsolutions.com in the examples above). It is
also possible for a Domain Name to exist but not be connected to an
actual machine. This is often done so that a group or business can
have an Internet e-mail address without having to establish a real
Internet site. In these cases, some real Internet machine must handle
the mail on behalf of the listed Domain Name.

site.

of contacts in a very efficient manner. You can manage the mailing

lists simply redirect all mail received to the list of recipients.
Mailing lists may be highly technical, or social and recreational.

solution already in use on over 70,000 World Wide Web sites. This

Common examples are plug-ins for the Netscape® browser and web server.
Adobe Photoshop® also uses plug-ins. The idea behind plug-in’s is
that a small piece of software is loaded into memory by the larger
program, adding a new feature, and that users need only install the
few plug-ins that they need, out of a much larger pool of possibilities.
Plug-ins are usually created by people other than the publishers of
the software the plug-in works with.
POP

to your in your control panel you also have access to raw log files
so that you can use your own statistic analysis program.
Real
Audio - We do not have a real audio/video server. However, we
do support real audio/video streaming for no extra charge. When Real
Audio/Video first came out, it required an audio/video server to be
installed on the web server. This was because Real Audio/Video wanted
to charge for each "stream'" or visitor. But soon people started writing
competitive audio/video streaming technology that didn't require a
special server. So, to compete, Real Audio/Video now does not require
a server, and you can even use their free tools to create streaming
audio over the Internet.
Real
Video- We support Video streaming with the Real Video Mime type
as explained above.

the web using https://yourdomain.com you need a hosting company that
will support ssl. We use Apache-SSL on all of our servers. In order
for SSL to function for your domain, you must acquire a secure certificate
from Thawte or Verisign. You can generate the Certificate Signing
Request (CSR) and install the certificate with the Control Panel.
Static
IP Address - Each account comes with a static IP address. A static
IP address means the IP address (the number of your site) never changes.
Some hosting companies use dynamic IP addressing, which means the
IP number is different each and every time you connect to the server
or they have several domains use 1 IP address. A static IP address
provides your site with a never-changing solid address, which allows
you to use it when FTPing files, or pinging your site, etc.
